Code of Conduct

New Brighton Victoria FC is committed to providing a safe, positive, and inclusive football environment for all. Our Code of Conduct reflects the standards set by the Cheshire FA, The FA Respect Programme, and our own club values.
All players, parents, coaches, volunteers, and spectators are expected to follow these principles at all times.

Code of Conduct

Respect

Respect is at the heart of our club culture. All individuals must treat teammates, opponents, referees, coaches, and spectators with courtesy and consideration. Decisions made by match officials must be accepted without argument, and everyone should recognise that grassroots football relies heavily on the goodwill and voluntary contribution of others. Respectful behaviour ensures that football remains enjoyable, safe, and welcoming for all participants.

1

Safeguarding

Safeguarding is a core responsibility across the club. We strive to provide a secure environment where children and young people feel safe, listened to, and valued. Any concerns regarding welfare must be reported immediately to the Club Welfare Officer, and all members are expected to follow relevant Cheshire FA safeguarding policies. This includes guidance on communication, appropriate conduct, and the safe use of photography and video.

2

Positivity

All members of New Brighton Victoria FC are expected to model positive behaviour. This includes encouraging effort, development, and fair play rather than focusing solely on results. Communication should always be constructive, age-appropriate, and supportive. The club values good sportsmanship both on and off the pitch, and we aim to demonstrate integrity in victory and dignity in defeat.

3

Equality

The club is proud to champion equality, inclusion, and diversity. Every person involved in our teams should be treated fairly regardless of gender, background, ethnicity, disability, or beliefs. Discrimination or exclusion of any kind is unacceptable, and all members share the responsibility of challenging inappropriate language or behaviour. We aim to maintain a culture where everyone feels welcome and empowered to participate.

4

Commitment

Commitment and responsibility form an important part of the football experience. Players and volunteers are expected to attend training and matches regularly, arrive punctually, and respect club facilities and equipment. By taking responsibility for their own improvement – whether in skills, attitude, or fitness – our members help to strengthen the club and contribute positively to their teams.

5

Safety

Health, safety, and well-being are key principles within the club. Members must listen carefully to coaches’ instructions and follow safety guidance during training and matches. Injuries or health concerns must be communicated promptly to coaching staff, and equipment must be used responsibly. A safe and positive pitchside environment helps ensure that young players can enjoy football without fear or distraction.
